Meet Jordan Oxman

Jordan Oxman

Founder

With over a decade of college admissions and counseling experience, Jordan Oxman has reviewed thousands of applications and guided hundreds of students to universities worldwide. She has served as an admissions officer at Northwestern University and as a college counselor at Phillips Academy Andover.

Jordan’s path to founding Oxman College Counseling began with her own college application journey at Harvard-Westlake School, where a formative relationship with her counselor sparked a lasting passion for the field. After graduating from the University of Michigan in 2015, she reconnected with that mentor and pursued a career in education, going on to serve in selective admissions roles at Lake Forest College and Northwestern University, where she evaluated thousands of first-year and transfer applications while also earning her MS in Higher Education Administration and Policy. In 2022, Jordan moved to the East Coast to become Associate Director of College Counseling at Phillips Academy Andover, one of the nation’s most prestigious independent schools, where she counseled 150+ students through every stage of the admissions process. She has an expansive professional network through extensive travel to hundreds of college campuses worldwide.

Through her work in both admissions and high school counseling, Jordan has supported students with a wide range of goals and pathways. She has extensive experience advising recruited athletes, students exploring universities in Canada and the United Kingdom, those pursuing need-based financial aid and merit scholarships, and students navigating unique personal or academic circumstances. This breadth of experience allows her to tailor thoughtful, strategic guidance to each student’s individual story and aspirations.

Outside of her work with students, Jordan lives with her husband — a fellow Michigan grad (the Oxmans go blue!) — their energetic toddler, Teddy, and their mini goldendoodle, Dawson. Dawson is always happy to make an appearance during meetings and is especially enthusiastic about receiving extra tummy rubs or snuggles from students when they need a quick break from essay writing.
